There comes a time when we all need help
Harcar-Manzella family needs ours today. Both parents have been diagnosed
with different types of cancer but are determined, along with their two
young children, to beat their illnesses and stay together as a family.
Over the last several months, Normal, Illinois, residents
Veronica Harcar-Manzella and Rich Manzella, along with their children,
Jennifer, 8, and Matthew,10, have had their lives turned upside down and
filled with uncertainty. In March 2010, Rich, a 44-year-old avid runner and
cyclist was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer. Three months later,
while Rich was undergoing aggressive chemotherapy treatment including daily
radiation, his wife Veronica, 45, was diagnosed with breast cancer. These
devastating diagnoses have made Rich and Veronica, natives of Romeoville and
Streator, more determined than ever to fight their illnesses so their
children donít have to worry about the future.
Family, friends and generous strangers are coming together
to raise money and give the Harcar-Manzella family the means to fight. We
are kindly calling upon the generosity of all community members to build a
circle of support.
